We have moved the event from November because competitive sailors’ schedules are very full at that time of year and we are keen to attract a wide range of participants from family sailors to experienced racers. We always have a good contingent of Paralympic sailors as well.
Boats can be sailed one up or two up. But both race equally well with top boats all having varied crew numbers. Even in light winds two handers can be competitive.
This year’s format is a bit different. There will be two long races across the lake on Saturday and on Sunday a series of short races in front of the Taal Lake Yacht Club.
There is modest cost accomodation as well as camping accommodation available.
The long races promise to be a fun sail with striking scenery passing the volcanic islands.
